The Woodland Fund – Our Tree Guardians
About Buddhas and Trees
In Buddhism, the peace and quite of woodland is said to as an ideal place to practice meditation and calm the mind. The Buddha became enlightened in the shade of a tree, maybe we all need our own tree?!
Just as lighting a butter lamp symbolically connects us with our inner wisdom, taking guardianship of trees helps to connect with the Rangjung Yeshe Gomde retreat land, shows our concern for the environment and increases awareness of the impact of our actions.
Trees are vitally important for the environment, and who doesn’t worry about the impact of their carbon footprint and climate change. The trees at Woodland Hermitage are young and still need to be nurtured. For just £10 a year per tree, you help care for those trees, so that they can grow tall and strong (and absorb lots of carbon dioxide!).
Put the Tree Guardianship in your friends or family’s name or dedicate them to the wellbeing of all future generations! We cannot label all your trees, but we will keep a Tree Guardians Register and you will receive a Guardians Card in the names of the people they are dedicated to. By sponsoring a minimum of 10 trees, their names will also be included in the annual prayer ceremony.
