Ato Rinpoche teachings in Scotland
Ato Rinpoche has taught three times at Gomde Scotland. It is deeply appreciated. Thank you Ato Rinpoche for your helpful and practical Buddhist teachings and personal advice. For your accessibility and great warmth. For really showing us how to really bring the ancient wisdom of the Buddhist teachings into our everyday lives.
Ato Rinpoche was born in Tibet in 1933 and recognised by the 11th Tai Situ as the Eighth Tenzin Tulku of Nezang. Ato Rinpoche is a very generous and refined Lama who is fluent in English. He is fully qualified to teach both the Kagyu practices of Mahamudra and the Nyingma practices of Maha Ati (Dzogchen). After leaving Tibet in 1959, he spent seven years in India: from 1960-63 he was the Kagyu Representative in the Dalai Lama’s Religious Office in Dharamsala and subsequently was the headmaster of a school for reincarnated lamas of all four lineages of Tibetan Buddhism. In 1967, he married and moved to Cambridge, where he worked as a nurse at Fulbourn Psychiatric Hospital, until his retirement in 1981. Since then Ato Rinpoche has been teaching worldwide, as well as spending time each year at Nezang, his own monastery in Kham, Qinghai Province, China.
