A Seminar with Lama Öser – Friday 28th to Sunday 30th of October
During this seminar Lama Öser will address how we can support ourselves and others in challenging times. Challenges like our own personal difficulties, the pandemic, climate change war and the cost of living can cause physical, mental, emotional, financial, and social disruptions in our lives. This seminar will address how to alleviate suffering through Buddhist wisdom and guidance, aiming to increase our calmness, kindness and compassion. We will use the Buddha Shakyamuni Treasury of Blessings text and learn how to rely on refuge in the Three Jewels.
This summer Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche traveled to Europe for the first time in two years. Eagerly awaited, Rinpoche visited Gomde Germany-Austria, Gomde UK and Gomde Pyrenées. All three seminars were a great success with hundreds of students gathered from all around the globe to receive Rinpoche’s profound teachings. Everyone was utterly happy and excited to see Rinpoche again and he put in to motion some amazing activities for the benefit of all. In Gomde Germany-Austria he laid the foundation for an International Buddhist University, in Gomde Pyrenées initiated the first international three year retreat and at Gomde UK at Lindholme Hall continued to bless and support the building a traditional Tibetan Temple. Amazing!
Gomde Scotland is delighted to be hosting Erik Pema Kunsang’s online BODHI TRAINING. In partnership with Gomde Denmark and renowned translator Erik Pema Kunsang, Gomde Scotland will provide this online course via monthly residential retreat events. Bodhi Training is an educational program in which you are guided through all levels of insight from the teachings of the Buddha, in English. This happens with the help of methods that support you in uncovering and realizing reality as it is. The aim of this program is to further develop your ability to meet all life situations with more compassion and deeper insight.
This beautiful woodland hermitage is seeking active, residential volunteers during the summer season to help mainly with building projects, maintenance and woodland management. We need practical, motivated people with joinery, basic carpentry, plumbing and general maintenance skills. We also need help with developing the web-page. Couples are also welcome to apply.
We are delighted to announce that we are open again. There will be an array of ways to be at Gomde and enjoy this beautiful site. We will have woodland volunteer days, retreats and events in the temple and the retreat cabins are ready for use.
In order to comply with covid regulations please book and inform us you are coming to Gomde for any event or just to visit by emailing info@gomdescotland.org

We are be hugely grateful for all the things that were achieved with your support, by the onsite volunteers who braved the long cold winter and completed much needed works.
A big thanks to everyone who donated – you are our Highland Heroes too!
Volunteers Needed for an Exciting Tree Planting Project
We are delighted to announce that we are receiving over 400 native trees from the Woodland Trust this year. In a happy coincidence we start this project on Rinpoche’s Birthday ☺ We need volunteer help to prepare the land and plant the trees and would be very grateful for your support.
The project will take place over five or six days between September and November and involve some general woodland project work, clearing an area of bracken and planting the trees in November.
For the last two years Lama Oser was invited to give teachings to over 60 pupils from the local schools and Academies, which has left a lasting impression. As one student put it
“I personally came out of this experience of meeting Lama Oser, wanting to become a better version of myself and try my hardest to be the kindest most considerate loving and happy person I can be”

We deeply appreciate and feel honored that Rinpoche came to Gomde Scotland to give teachings and transmissions. The cosy, intimate and family style of the small group teachings at Gomde Scotland make them very special. Rinpoche gave direct instructions and chose the text “Advice from old Vijaya”.
The peaceful woodlands of Gomde Scotland are a perfect place for cultivating Samadhi. The retreat took place from July 2nd to July 22nd. It was lead by Lama Tenzin and Heidi Koeppl and was translated in to Chinese.
We have not yet covered all the costs for building the new retreat cabins built for the retreat. To connect and create auspicious conditions for further retreats and help support the finishing of the huts, please consider helping the crowd funding campaign https://chuffed.org/project/helpgomdegrow
For the Tara retreat to happen, we urgently need your help and support. Especially now our chief builder, Michael has broken his arm! If you can work and help build the huts and new toilet block, get in touch. We are starting a new fundraiser and just for the Tara retreat facilities we need to raise £65,000. If you can help support financially, which would be deeply appreciated and it is very much needed, click the link below or see our donate page for other giving options.
And if the thought just makes you happy – please rejoice and add your prayers that we have the resources to finish all the preparations and create wonderful supportive “Lotus Seats” for all practitioners.
