Lama Tenzin – Music that moves the Heart. We are really happy that Lama Tenzin will be visiting Gomde Scotland for the first time. Lama Tenzin will give us the opportunity to experience the magic of his beautiful voice during two concerts. These are part of his project to support his monastery in Nepal, as told his friends: “My deepest wish is to be able to cover the expenses for the food of all the monks in our monastery, and to contribute to their health care and education!” Continue Reading »

Lama Öser is one of Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche’s most senior Lamas and he speaks excellent english. We were delighted that he had an opportunity to visit Gomde Scotland again, and that he was accompanied by Ani Laura and our Gomde Lindhome family; Paulette, David and Paul. The sun shone and it was a wonderful weekend of teachings, Dharma activities and friendship, which was greatly enjoyed by everyone.

Gomde Trust has the responsibility to care for nearly 50 acres of woodland. But if you are going to work in the woods, making firewood or felling small trees, a basic chainsaw course is vital for safety reasons and to make sure you are covered by the any insurance policies. That is why we organised this course through Varis, a local accredited training provider.

Everyone very much enjoyed the wonderful weekend of teachings and meditation with Khenpo Gyurme Tsultrim in April 2013.
Lojong, is an ancient tradition of training the mind so that compassion arrises naturally in our hearts. Based on the famous 8th century text “The Way of a Bodhisattva” which is one of the great classics of Mahayana Buddhism. Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche asked Khenpo La to teach Lojong saying this is what will help people the most in this day and age. The study of Lojong presents us with timeless advice on how to deal with our everyday fears and emotions. These fears often stop us from reaching out to help people. These teachings give us a way to see the world in a different light, for as Shantideva explains “All the happinessthere is in this world comes from thinking about others, and all the suffering comes from preoccupation with yourself.”
